EG’s Svenskeren Still Hasn’t Found a Team for 2022, Still Wants to Compete

Two-time LCS MVP Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen still hasn’t found a team for 2022 and will most likely be taking an involuntary “sabbatical.” While he might not be as dangerous and capable as in his prime, he’s still one of the most seasoned junglers in North America and would serve as a boon to any team that might pick him up.Is he a bit too volatile at times? Absolutely, but that, too, can be handled and turned into a positive.“I have not been able to find a team this offseason. I have been playing in the LCS since season three without missing a split and this will be the first time I won’t be starting. NA has been my home for the past six years and it’s sad to think that last summer might have been my last time playing there. I’m still very dedicated and I know that I’m still good enough,...

Team Liquid 2022 Roster Finalized With Bjergsen, Hans Sama, and Bwipo

Team Liquid, the former four-time LCS champions, have finalized their 2022 LCS roster in the most spectacular of ways. Their plans had leaked long before any contracts were signed, so it’s not like there’s any big surprise here.Be that as it may, getting official confirmation is always important, and that is especially true for this particular Team Liquid roster, as it seemed a bit too good to be true for a good while. This, in short, is one of the best and most stacked rosters in North American history. If this team, as layered and talented and experienced as it is, doesn’t leave a mark internationally, it might be time to sound the alarms. There’s no weak link to speak of, no player that could easily be exploited or punished — “just” five spectacular veterans who are at the peak of their...

Dignitas QNTMPAY 2022 LCS Line-Up Reportedly Finalized

Dignitas QNTMPAY have reportedly finalized their 2022 LCS roster and, well, it leaves a lot to be desired. It’s not bad per se, but it’s nonetheless severely lacking when compared to most other line-ups. There’s no saving grace either, no silver lining one could highlight. It’s just… okay. And that’s perhaps the worst role a team can find itself in: the middling, unimpressive, underwhelming gatekeeper no one ever thinks about. No one cares much for the middle-of-the-pack challengers, the teams that always try their hardest and yet fail without exception. And, the thing is, they’re expected to fail as they were never set up for success; they were never given the right tools to work with — the tools that are necessary for challenging the LCS pantheon. They might pull off an upset or two, go on ...

Cloud9 Have Finalized Their 2022 Starting Line-Up

Cloud9 have finalized their 2022 LCS starting line-up and, well, it’s quite divisive in nature. Most folks think it’ll either wreck house and compete for a spot near the top of the standings, or implode in the most underwhelming of ways. We’re not quite sure what to think, but we’re nonetheless mighty excited to see these players in action as there’s definitely a fair bit of potential present!Whether it’ll be harnessed and realized in time still remains to be seen, though. Moving one of their best players from top to mid is already an experiment that carries a ton of risk; bringing in three Korean players on top of it is basically asking “for trouble.” Still, Cloud9 are no strangers to thinking outside of the box, and it’s impossible not to applaud their approach here, even though we’re no...

FlyQuest Reportedly Finalizes 2022 LCS Roster

According to numerous reports, FlyQuest has finalized their 2022 LCS roster and, well, it’s quite a peculiar one. Now, on the one hand, they’ve undoubtedly upgraded from 2021. On the other, this is still a “budget-friendly,” mid-tier roster that’s not going to make waves. A gatekeeper, if you will.If FlyQuest are content with such a position, so are we. Not everyone can (or should) compete with the Team Liquids and Cloud9s of the world and, well, we mustn’t forget that gatekeepers are a natural part of the “food chain.” The important thing is that they improve with each new split — that’s the number one thing we (the fans and the media) want to see. And, to their credit, the FlyQuest roster they’ll field in 2022 can, by all means, be considered as an upgrade over its predecessor. Is this Fl...

Immortals 2022 LCS Starting Line-Up Has Been Finalized

Immortals have officially finalized their starting line-up for 2022 and, well, it’s not what anyone had expected. Fortunately, it’s a wholly positive surprise, and that’s not something we often get to say when it comes to mid-tier gatekeepers and bottom-tier dwellers. It’s no secret that Immortals have hovered somewhere between these two categories for a while now, but that could very well change in a few months’ time.Their two seventh place finishes in 2021 obviously left a lot to be desired, but at least they had shown glimpses of potential. And, well, we really do mean “glimpses” — short and fleeting in nature. No matter what they tried, success seemed out of reach. In that sense, they were the quintessential gatekeeper, a team that was a bit better than you’d expect but nowhere near go...

TSM FTX Names Chawy as New Head Coach

Former Hong Kong Attitude head coach Wong “Chawy” Xing Lei will take over the head coaching duties at TSM FTX, as per Dot’s Pablo Suarez. Chawy’s contract with HKA had expired mere days ago and, by the looks of it, he was more than willing to switch things up and sign for one of the biggest and most recognizable esports brands in the world. Hardly a surprise. And, on the off-chance his pseudonym happens to ring a bell, that is probably because he was once amongst the very best mid laners in the world. Most fans probably don’t remember as it happened “eons ago,” but there was a time when Chawy wrecked house along with ahq eSports Club. Unfortunately, he didn’t always get the chance to show off his skills seeing how Liu “Westdoor” Shu-Wei often got preferential treatment, but he’s defin...

Cloud9 Round Out Their Roster With Summit, Berserker, and Winsome

Cloud9 will reportedly bring in Park “Summit” Woo-tae (formerly of Liiv SANDBOX), along with promising South Korean ADC Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol (from T1 Challengers) and Shadow Battlica support Kim “Winsome” Dong-keon, as reported by Dot’s Jacob Wolf.Their two-time MVP jungler Rober “Blaber” Huang will once again make an appearance, whereas Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami — arguably Cloud9’s most consistent player — will role swap to mid, as previously reported. What a strange line-up… One that is so surprising we’re not even sure what to think. It really came out of nowhere, but that doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing — far from it. That said, Cloud9 still need to find a capable head coach that will handle this peculiar roster and create a well-functioning team atmosphere and infrastructu...

LCS to Shift to a Different Format in 2022

Riot has just announced that the North American LCS will shift to a noticeably different format for the 2022 competitive season. This is very important news as it’ll affect both the ten teams that are  scheduled to compete and everyone watching from home — albeit in noticeably different ways. We’re going to break everything down into a (relatively) short TL;DR as no one wants to get lost in a sea of never-ending paragraphs! Both the Spring and Summer Splits will now consist of eight-week double round robins, with five games played on Saturday and five on Sunday. So, if you loved watching LCS on Fridays, you’re out of luck on this one. Fortunately, two weeks each split will be designated as “Super Weeks” and they’ll feature an additional five games on Friday — the exact same format as in the ...

TSM FTX Reportedly Interested in Signing Fate and Life, Will Buy Out Tactical

If the rumor mill is to be believed, TSM FTX have their sights set on the following three players: Yoo “FATE” Su-hyeok (formerly of Liiv SANDBOX), Kim “Life” Jeong-min (Gen.G support), and Edward “Tactical” Ra. If things go according to plan, they’ll be fighting alongside Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon and Mingyi “Spica” Lu in the 2022 competitive season. This was first reported by The Game Haus and, well, it’s not exactly what anyone had expected. First of all, we know that G2’s Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle is currently negotiating with this age-old North American organization, so the news that they’re interested in signing Life definitely comes as a surprise. Have they failed to come to terms with Mikyx, or is he more of a back-up if the Life signing falls through? We can only theorize at this point, unfo...
