Perkz Contract Clause Prevented Him From Going to Fnatic Through the End of 2023

The fact that Martin “Rekkles” Larsson might end up sitting out the first half of 2022 is pretty ludicrous, but according to Carlos “ocelote” Rodríguez Santiago, G2 is doing everything it can to help and has even attempted to loan the legendary marksman at “double reduced price.”Unfortunately, LEC rules don’t allow for such a thing which is why G2 has applied to have said rules changed. Even if it does end up happening (which is highly unlikely), it almost certainly won’t happen in time for Rekkles to find a team — no matter how hard Ocelote might try. And, well, with a $1.5 million buyout, a reduced price is potentially the only thing that could end up “saving” Rekkles. It’s not an egregious amount considering his talent and overall worth, but most orgs that have that kind of money already...

MAD Lions and Rogue to Sign RKR and Malrang, Respectively

MAD Lions and Rogue are reportedly on the verge of signing Steven “RKR” Chen (current BIG mid laner) and Kim “Malrang” Geun-seong (DWG KIA jungle sub), respectively. The MAD Lions signing makes all the sense in the world as RKR (formerly known as Reeker) is a superb player with a high skill ceiling and, as such, is more than worthy of playing on the LEC stage. The latter, however, is definitely a surprise, and we’re still not sure whether to celebrate or to be all doom and gloom about it. Simply put, importing mid-tier LCK players hasn’t been a “thing” for years and, well, there’s a good reason why: most European teams had failed big time when it came to creating inclusive, well-functioning systems for these imports to work in and prosper. Heck, most orgs couldn’t even handle the language ...

Fnatic Signing Mid Laner Humanoid Reportedly In the Works

LEC fans can breathe a sigh of relief! Not only is Marek “Humanoid” Brázda going to stay in Europe, but he’s reportedly close to signing with none other than Fnatic!  /*! elementor - v3.5.3 - 28-12-2021 */ .elementor-heading-title{padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1}.elementor-widget-heading .elementor-heading-title[class*=elementor-size-]>a{color:inherit;font-size:inherit;line-height:inherit}.elementor-widget-heading .elementor-heading-title.elementor-size-small{font-size:15px}.elementor-widget-heading .elementor-heading-title.elementor-size-medium{font-size:19px}.elementor-widget-heading .elementor-heading-title.elementor-size-large{font-size:29px}.elementor-widget-heading .elementor-heading-title.elementor-size-xl{font-size:39px}.elementor-widget-heading .elementor-heading-title.eleme...

xMatty Verbally Agrees to Play for Team BDS in 2022

Matthew Charles “xMatty” Coombs, standout ERL marksman and two-time EU Masters champion, has reportedly agreed to compete for Team BDS in the forthcoming competitive season, as per the Upcomer. This rumor has been circulating the web for a while, but it seems that the two parties finally agreed to terms. Exciting stuff, no doubt! He will be joined by Jakub “Cinkrof” Rokicki, his former jungler from Karmine Corp, so he’ll at least have a familiar ally by his side as he takes on the very best teams Europe has to offer. Those who’ve followed his LFL journey are well aware of his talents, and the fact that BDS will have him under their banner means they could potentially put up a much bigger fight than expected. If Adam “Adam” Maanane joins their ranks as well (as has been rumored recently), the...

Nisqy Plans to Leave Fnatic to Explore Other Options

Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer and Fnatic are reportedly going to part ways. The Upcomer first reported this, and, frankly, it should come as no surprise. The team went through a lot during the 2021 World Championship. By the looks of it, that whole ordeal has left its mark — as was to be expected.Nisqy’s recent career trajectory has been quite turbulent, although it’s generally been very positive. After winning the LCS back in 2020 Spring, he and Cloud9 were unable to “go the distance” just a few months later and had imploded in the most unexpected of ways. Luka “Perkz” Perković replaced him, but it wasn’t like Nisqy didn’t land on a great team in return. Fnatic was more than willing to take him on after such a successful stint in North America. A fifth-place finish in Spring wasn’t exactly a stell...

SK Gaming Signs Gilius for the 2022 Season

Erberk “Gilius” Demir will reportedly be signing with SK Gaming for the 2022 competitive season, as per the Upcomer. The fact that he’ll still compete on the LEC stage — despite his previous org selling its franchising spot — is not only great news for this seasoned Turkish jungler but the LEC as a whole. He’s undoubtedly one of the most charismatic players out there and mighty good at the game as well.He might not be a premier jungler who’s going to challenge for the LEC throne, but he’s not to be trifled with either. He’s been playing at the highest of levels for years. While most of his contemporaries have since retired or gone into coaching, Gilius is still stealing Barons and leading his teams to the playoffs (at least more often than not).Schalke finished in the Top 6 for two years s...

Patrik Reportedly Staying With Excel Esports for 2022

Patrik “Patrik” Jírů, one of the more underrated AD carries in the LEC, is reportedly going to stay with Excel Esports for the 2022 competitive season. Now, if you’re an Excel fan, you’re surely elated beyond measure. On the other hand, if you’re a Patrik fan specifically, you’re probably not too happy about his decision. He’s been a standout performer for years, yet he’s never really had a good enough team to support him. His stint with Origen back in 2019 was solid, but it didn’t last that long. He is by no means the second coming of Martin “Rekkles” Larsson, of course, but we’ve seen his immense highs, and we were not left indifferent.  He’s been with Excel for two years now, and it’s been quite an underwhelming journey. Across their four splits, they had never finished higher ...

Team BDS Has Reportedly Come to an Agreement With Karmine Corp’s Cinkrof

/*! elementor - v3.5.3 - 28-12-2021 */ .elementor-widget-image{text-align:center}.elementor-widget-image a{display:inline-block}.elementor-widget-image a img[src$=".svg"]{width:48px}.elementor-widget-image img{vertical-align:middle;display:inline-block} If you’ve been wanting to see any of the Karmine Corp boys on the LEC stage, you finally have a reason to celebrate: Jakub “Cinkrof” Rokicki is reportedly going to compete in the “big leagues” with Team BDS! Better yet, he won’t be the only one who’ll get a “promotion,” with Raphaël “Targamas” Crabbé also supposedly coming to an agreement with the former “kings of Europe” G2 Esports.Interestingly enough, both players had made their debuts years ago, but neither were ever really given a fair shot at proving ...
